什么是工具?在工作中你需要什么工具?我们怎么使用工具?这些工具能帮助我们做什么?你还需要什么工具帮助你来解决问题呢?跟随这些问题,我们来一起走进KA年级组小朋友们的探究之旅吧。

What are tools? What kinds of tools do we use in our daily life? How do we use these tools? Why are tools important? What kinds of tools can we use in the future? Following these questions, let's get to know and join the inquiry classes of KA students!

我们围绕中心思想:人们用不同的工具解决困难展开探究。以重要概念“功能、责任、连系”驱动课程,以问题为导向开展了一系列的探究活动。

Our central idea is: The innovative tools make daily tasks easier. The three main concepts are function, responsibility and connection.

导入(Tuning In)——你们知道什么是工具吗?你知道的工具有哪些呢?运用思维导图的形式记录幼儿的已知经验,为了扩宽幼儿了解更多关于工具的资料,我们一起商讨各种获取信息的方法,幼儿经过进一步的收集资料,不断加深自己对工具的认识,并做出总结。

Tuning In------What are tools? What kinds of tools do you know? We used the mind map to record children's knowledge about tools. In order to expand children's knowledge about tools, we collected information, for children to continue and deepen their understanding about tools and make a summary after collecting further data.

我们了解了各种各样的工具之后,学习者产生了很多的疑惑。发现(Finding Out)——这些工具都是谁在使用?在工作中我们到底需要什么工具?于是我们在学校社区开展了一次“我是小小调查员”的活动,学习者们成为一个个小记者,到学校的各个部门去做采访,他们分别采访了:“保安、小学生、老师、保洁员、校医、行政人员等,向他们了解他们工作中都使用了哪些工具,会帮助他们做些什么。

After the students identified the different types of tools, our learners thought of some questions. In the Finding Out part---- Who uses these tools? What kinds of tools do we need for different kinds of jobs? Our kindergarten students had the “I AM A LITTLE JOURNAILIST” activity. Our “little journalists” went to different departments to do some survey. They went to our security guard, primary students, teachers, cleaners, school nurse office, and some of administration staff to inquire what kinds of tools will they use in their jobs, how to use these tools and what are the advantages of using these tools.

经过调查之后,学习者们总结出不同职业的人使用的工具也有所不同,于是他们通过进一步的梳理(Sorting out),更加了解了工具在生活中作用。

According to research, Learners made the summary that different jobs used the different tools. Therefore, through the sorting out, better to understanding tools how to use in the social life.

为了更加了解我们怎么使用工具以及在使用的过程中我们应该注意些什么——连系(Connecting)——我们开展了两次实践活动,学习者们在自己动手实践的过程中,学会安全的使用各种工具,了解了这些工具能帮我们做什么。

In order to learn more on how we use these tools and what we need to keep in mind as we use them, our students had to practice using these tools, how to safely use these tools, and learned the uses of these tools.

在探究活动的深入(Going Further)环节,学习者们开始思考我们怎么用工具来完成不同的任务呢?在运水实验和水的净化实验中,大家发现问题并解决问题,成为积极的探究者。

In the Going Further session, learners started to think about how can we use tools to accomplish different tasks? We had two experiments: the “Moving Water Experiment” and the “Water Purification Experiment.” Our students became active learners when they asked questions and found solutions and answers to solve them.

工具是用来帮助我们解决困难的,你还需要什么工具帮助你来解决困难呢?学习者们通过反思(Reflection)开展了负责任的行动(Taking Action)——充分发挥能动性,在具有发言权、选择权和主导权的活动中完成行动。通过思维导图的形式记录下自己想要制作的工具有哪些;同时设计出自制工具方案,收集自制工具所需的材料,自己选择合作伙伴,最终设计出可以解决生活中困难的工具。

Tools help us solve problems. What other tools do you need to help you solve your problem? The learners were able to REFLECT and TAKE ACTION---exert their initiative and complete actions in activities, using their rights to speak and have their own choices. At the same time, they collected materials needed for making tools and chose their partners. Finally, they designed a tool that could solve some difficulties in life.

总结性评估:KA Tools Assessment——学习者和教师商讨出评估标准,学习者自己或小组合作成员对设计的解决生活中不同问题的各类工具进行分享和介绍,他们不仅展示了自己的思维导图和设计方案,还详细解说了自己制作工具用到了什么材料和工具,解决了什么问题,他们在活动中对他人的工具进行了评价,完成了自评和互评。

Assessment-----learners and teachers discussed evaluation standard. Learners shared and introduced methods in developing new tools. Not only did they create mind maps and design crafts, but also introduced materials to create new tools. Through different activities, they were able to finish their assessment about tools.

完成第一个Unit Tools之后,学习者们还将继续在探究的道路上不断反思、成长,这更加突出了我们是一名合格的IB学习者反思者的特质。

After finishing the first UOI, our KA students will continue to reflect and grow along the path of inquiry, which highlights our characteristics as IB learner reflectors.
